SharpRoute publishes independent reviews of betting brokers and exchanges. We are not owned by, operated by, or under the editorial control of any betting platform. We do, however, participate in affiliate programs with some of the operators we cover, meaning we receive a commission if you open an account through one of our links. This page describes how we evaluate the platforms we cover, where our data comes from, how affiliate relationships do and do not affect our coverage, and the editorial standards we hold ourselves to.
Our Scoring Framework
Each review carries an overall rating out of 10. That rating is composed of five weighted dimensions:
How We Source Information
Our reviews draw on three categories of evidence, in declining order of weight:
- Direct platform testing. Wherever practical, we maintain active accounts on the platforms we review. This lets us verify odds quality, deposit and withdrawal flows, customer support response times, and limit behaviour first-hand.
- Publicly verifiable data. Platform documentation, terms of service, license records, payment processor disclosures, and public statements by operators. We cite sources where claims are non-obvious.
- Long-term community signal. Reports from established betting communities (BettingExpert, r/sportsbook, sharp-bettor Telegram channels, professional bettor blogs). We weight this evidence based on the credibility of the source and consistency across independent reports.
We do not accept payment from platforms in exchange for favourable coverage, and we do not republish platform-provided marketing copy as editorial content.
How We Make Money
SharpRoute is an affiliate publisher. When a reader clicks one of our links and subsequently registers with the operator and places bets, we receive a commission from the operator (not from the reader). This is the same model used by most independent review sites in this category.
Three principles govern how we handle this:
- Affiliate relationships do not influence ratings. A platform with a generous affiliate program does not earn a better rating than a platform with a stingy one. Our rating reflects what we believe is best for the bettor, not what is most lucrative for us.
- We disclose the relationship. Every review notes that we receive affiliate compensation. Our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy document this in full.
- We recommend platforms we would use ourselves. If a platform we covered fell short in ways that materially harmed users (slow payouts, dishonest practices, regulatory issues), we would publish that finding regardless of affiliate revenue impact.
What We Do Not Cover
SharpRoute's coverage scope is narrow by design. We focus on betting brokerages and exchanges that serve experienced sports bettors. We deliberately do not cover:
- Retail bookmakers, these platforms serve recreational bettors and operate on high-margin business models. Plenty of other review sites cover them; we do not consider them appropriate for the audience this site is written for.
- US sports betting markets, US sports betting regulation is state-specific and operates under a different framework than the international markets we cover. Outside our scope.
- Casino, poker, or other gambling verticals, sports betting only. The economic dynamics of casino games differ substantially and we are not equipped to evaluate them well.
- Tipping services, prediction software, or paid pick subscriptions, we cover infrastructure, not picks. We do not believe paid pick services consistently outperform self-directed analysis for serious bettors.
SharpRoute does not operate as a licensed gambling operator and does not solicit users in any specific jurisdiction. Readers are responsible for verifying that accessing any platform we review is legal under their local laws.
How Ratings Get Updated
We review each rating at least quarterly and update individual reviews whenever a material change occurs: a new payment rail, a license change, a documented shift in limit behaviour, a major platform update. The "Last updated" date on each review reflects the most recent revision.
If you spot an inaccuracy or believe a rating no longer reflects reality, please contact us at contact@sharproute.net. We update reviews based on evidence, not pressure, but we read every email.
Conflicts of Interest
We disclose any material conflicts of interest in the reviews where they apply. We do not currently hold any operator positions beyond the standard affiliate relationships disclosed in our Terms of Use. We have no equity stake in any of the platforms we cover.
Editorial Standards
Our reviews aim to meet the following standards:
- Verifiable claims. Every factual claim (margin percentages, license status, payout times, commission rates) should be either directly verifiable on the operator's website or supported by primary-source documentation.
- Honest downsides. Every review notes the platform's weaknesses alongside its strengths. A review without honest downsides is marketing, not journalism.
- Plain language. We write for adults who understand sports betting but should not need to be experts in financial regulation or affiliate marketing to follow our analysis.
- No content templates. Each review is written specifically for the platform it covers. We do not use the same structural template across reviews because each platform has different strengths worth foregrounding.
